Riverside Park visit

9 May 2022
On Saturday we were honoured to welcome visitors from The Compassionate Friends UK to Riverside Park for the first time since 2019. They spent some time in the remembrance garden we have created with them in a quiet section of the Park. We then joined together to celebrate the unveiling of a new sculpture that we commissioned from Scottish blacksmith Kev Paxton, who is best known for his appearances on the TV Show Money for Nothing. The beautiful artwork depicts a robin redbreast perched on a garden fork around which a rose is entwined. The sculpture will be installed in its permanent position within the Compassionate Friends Garden soon, as a symbol of love and remembrance of children lost but never forgotten.

The visitors also toured the heather garden, which is looking lovely in its Spring colours at the moment.
