Green Flag Awards

Very soon the entrance in to the Riverside Park will be brightened when we proudly fly our 2 Green Flags!!

After a lot of hard work by our wonderful volunteers, we have been successful in being awarded a Community Green Flag for the Compassionate Friends Garden and one for the Heather Garden. Further recognition of the beauty of these tranquil places in the Fair City..

The annual awards are judged by Keep Scotland Beautiful Throughout Scotland there are only 10 Community Green Flags Awarded of which Perth now has two!

As the International standard for parks and green spaces, holding a Green Flag Award brings with it a vast amount of prestige.  It is also an excellent example of civic achievement and provides communities with a great sense of civic pride.  Winning a Green Flag visibly demonstrates to the local community that clear improvements and plans for future development and improvements have been made to the site.  

It is another red letter day in the history of 'Beautiful Perth' and we look forward to proudly displaying the flags in the near future.  I believe, this will be the first time a community entry has won not one but two Green Flags for the Perth & Kinross Area.
