Queen's Green Canopy

The Queen’s Green Canopy is a national tree planting project, created to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022, which invites people from across the United Kingdom to “Plant a Tree for the Jubilee”. Beautiful Perth volunteers were keen to take part in the project, and met in early March to mark the occasion. Chairman John Summers was honoured to do the planting alongside the Deputy Lieutenant for Perth & Kinross, Alex Cairncross, and together they wielded the spade to plant a Cornus Controversa Variegata tree in Riverside Park and to install a commemorative sign.
