Beautiful Perth Awards 2019

The winners of the 2019 Beautiful Perth Awards, and the Gannochy Trust's Garden Awards, were announced at a ceremony in Perth on Thursday 3 October. The official photos of the Awards ceremony are now available on our Flickr site. A list of category winners can be found below.

The Beautiful Perth Awards celebrate the hard work of the many local residents, businesses and community groups who help make the Fair City bloom with colour and buzz with wildlife throughout the summer. We run them in partnership with Perth and Kinross Council’s Community Greenspace team, and our volunteers take on extra duties as competition judges, visiting all the entries in August, looking for horticultural and environmental excellence. The judges can award Bronze, Silver, Silver Gilt or Gold medals, and they also choose the winners of each competition category.

The results of the Gannochy Garden Awards were also announced at the ceremony. Organised by the Gannochy Trust for residents of its properties, these Awards are also judged by Beautiful Perth volunteers, with categories for Best Garden and Best Patio Garden.

At the awards ceremony, Chairman John Summers congratulated all the entrants: “We have been tremendously impressed by the gardens, displays and community projects we have seen this year. Every one of the entries has helped make Perth a beautiful place to live and work, and I am very proud to be a resident of a City where so many people take so much care of their local environment. And of course, we know that Perth’s reputation as a blooming lovely place draws in many visitors every year, bringing economic benefits as well. So, may I congratulate not only tonight’s winners, but also all our entrants, the Gannochy Trust and its residents, our own volunteers, and the many others across our Fair City who help keep Perth so beautiful.  The best thing about this is that everyone is a winner!”
