Councillors visit proposed Butterfly & Moth Garden

We have made an application for funding to enable us, in conjunction with Butterfly Conservation, to create a new Butterfly and Moth Garden within the Rodney Garden. Obtaining support from our local Councillors is important so we invited them over so they could see first hand all that would be involved and the benefits that would bring. We explained that it was not merely about regenerating a neglected area but the intention to work with Butterfly Conservation in organising educational events to inform children - and adults - about the importance of insects and how we can all do our bit to encourage and nurture such wildlife.

We also took the opportunity to show all the work we have been involved in and more plans for the future to regenerate other areas which have sadly been neglected.
